Founded in 2005-2006, Spectrum Theatre Company aims to inspire thought and dialogue both on campus and within the larger community. Spectrum is dedicated to recognizing the spectrum of beliefs, opinions, colors, creeds and lifestyles of all people by producing thought provoking and challenging theatre.

Spectrum officially joined StuCo, Northwestern’s Student Theatre Coalition, for its 2012-2013 season. After a successful first season as a part of StuCo, Spectrum reserved its first Louis Room slot for a spring mainstage show in 2014 (Peter Pan).

Spectrum’s fall 2013 mainstage show Bug became the board’s highest grossing show, only to be beat out by the winter 2014 mainstage show Cat’s Cradle. During venue allocation for StuCo’s 2014-15 season, Spectrum received its first McCormick Auditorium slot in board history.
